New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo suffered a hamstring injury on a big run to set up his team for a game-winning touchdown against the Houston Texans in Week 7.
Skattebo had extra time to rest and recover over the Giants' Week 8 bye. However, the second-year RB still isn't 100% as the team prepares for its Week 9 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles this coming weekend.
Skattebo did not participate in practice on Wednesday, working off to the side of the field with trainers.

This isn't the only running back issue for the Giants. Tyrone Tracy Jr. suffered a hamstring injury of his own in Week 7, landing him on injured reserve for at least the next four games. If Skattebo is unable to go in Week 9, Devin Singletary will be asked to step up as the Giants' lead back.
Greg Desrosiers, who was signed off the Los Angeles Chargers' practice squad last week, is the only other healthy RB on the Giants' active roster. Phil Mafah and Eric Gray are on the practice squad.
The Giants are also rumored to be pursuing Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor ahead of next week's trade deadline.

New York will kick off against the Eagles at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
