NFL insider Adam Schefter covered the news, and Barstool Sports joined in by sharing a video that showcases Gruden's arrival.

Gruden has been appearing on various programs, including Barstool Sports' "Pardon My Take." Earlier this offseason, the former head coach also appeared with the Kansas City Chiefs, acting as a consultant while the team practiced.
Though the Chiefs did not hire Gruden for the role of an assistant, it is believed that he is likely joining Barstool Sports to act as an analyst for the media conglomerate. Gruden did cover the NFL for Monday Night Football from 2009 to 2017.

Before Gruden became an analyst, he was a head coach for the then-Oakland Raiders from 1998 to 2001 and then the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2002 to 2008. He would ultimately leave coaching behind to become an analyst.
After spending many years covering the NFL as an analyst, Gruden returned to coaching, taking over the head coaching job of the Las Vegas Raiders in 2018. He would last until 2021 when an email controversy led to his resigning the position and being ousted from the league altogether.
Following an investigation into the Washington Commanders, Gruden exchanged emails with the then-Washington general manager Bruce Allen where Gruden used racist, misogynistic, and homophobic slurs. As soon as the emails became public, the Raiders head coach resigned from his position.
Gruden would eventually work his way back to being a consultant in 2023 for the New Orleans Saints, but he has not taken any sort of coaching position since the email controversy. As stated, Gruden also appeared on the sidelines with the Chiefs, though the team did not hire him for any sort of assistant or consultant role.
Now, Gruden is presumably going to return to his role as an analyst for Barstool Sports. That, or he might be appearing as a character in videos and promotions, much like he did in the announcement of his being added to the company.
Either way, Gruden appears to be back to talking football.
