Gallup played for the Cowboys in the first six seasons of his career. Following the 2023 season, he was released as a cap-cutting move in the 2024 offseason.

Gallup eventually signed a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders in April 2024. However, he retired a mere three months later, he chose to step away from the game of football.

While a member of the Cowboys, Gallup secured 3,744 yards, 21 touchdowns, and a 14.1 yards per catch average. His best season came in 2019 when he secured 1,107 yards and six touchdowns.

Gallup proved to be a fantastic receiver, but his production started to dip following the 2020 season. With the arrival of CeeDee Lamb, Gallup began to fall even more out of favor for the Cowboys' offensive plan.

It will be interesting to see what kind of traction Gallup can get considering he is only 29 years old. He did decide to retire at a young age, so that fact might deter teams from giving him a chance.

There is also a plethora of receivers that have been released in recent days, which may or may not impact the chances that Gallup has.

Josh Reynolds, Devin Duvernay, and Tyler Lockett are among the receivers who were just released by their respective teams. There are likely to be even more cuts coming as teams are attempting to cut bigger contracts to make way for free agency.

Gallup is still a young receiver who could garner interest from multiple teams, but it will be determined by his shape. He took an entire year off, but should he pass physicals — there could be some receiver-needy teams that come calling for his talents.

Gallup last played in 2023 and posted 418 yards and two touchdowns through 17 games. He also maintained a 12.3 yards-per-catch average.

The Raiders owned the rights to Gallup's contract, but since they removed him from the reserved/retired list, he can now sign with whatever team gives him a chance.

Gallup could warrant a one-year "prove deal" that might pay him a potential vet minimum and performance accelerators. For now, he will have to wait to see if he gets a workout from teams.
