Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles had one of the best seasons a running back could possibly have.
Barkley led the league in rushing attempts (345), yards (2,005), yards per game (125.3), touches (378), and yards from scrimmage (2,283). He also recorded 13 rushing touchdowns.

This has led to Barkley being named to the Pro Bowl, first-team All-Pro, and NFL Offensive Player of the Year while coming in third in NFL MVP voting.

Barkley has carried this success into the postseason, rushing 66 times for 442 yards and five touchdowns.
Barkley already holds one NFL record in his career: most receptions by a running back in a rookie season (91). Let's take a look at other records he could beat against the Kansas City Chiefs today.

...
Most Total Rushing Yards in a Season
Unfortunately, Barkley sat out the final game of the regular season in order to rest for the playoffs. This means he couldn't beat Eric Dickerson's record for the most rushing yards in a season (2,105 yards).

However, there is an almost guaranteed chance he can beat another record.
Heading into Super Bowl LIX, Barkley is only 30 yards away from breaking the record for most rushing yards in a season including the playoffs.
The least amount of yards Barkley recorded in a single game was 47 yards against the Cleveland Browns. At this point, this record is Barkley's to lose.
Most Rushing Yards in a Playoff Season
Currently, Barkley has recorded 442 rushing yards in the playoffs, already putting himself in seventh place all-time for most rushing yards in a single playoff season. This means he is 168 yards away from breaking the all-time record.
Originally set by John Riggins in 1982, Barkley is more than capable of breaking the record, having rushed for more than that three times this season. He also rushed for 118 yards against the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship, which he essentially accomplished in the first half.
That being said, those were against the New York Giants, the Los Angeles Rams twice, and the Commanders, who all have terrible rushing defenses. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have the eighth-best rushing defense in the NFL, so it would be a feat for him to beat this record.
Most Rushing Yards/Touchdowns in a Super Bowl
Another record Barkley has a solid shot at is the most rushing yards in a Super Bowl. The original record was set by Timmy Smith in Super Bowl XXII, who rushed for 204 yards.
This season, Barkley has rushed for more than 204 yards twice, both times against the Rams. If he gets momentum and starts off strong like he did against the Commanders in the NFC Championship, there's a distinct possibility that he could break this record.

What might be more difficult to beat is the most rushing touchdowns in a Super Bowl, set by Terrell Davis in Super Bowl XXXII and Jalen Hurts in Super Bowl LVII who both scored three touchdowns.
Since Barkley is on the same team as Hurts and the Eagles love the Tush Push, that will definitely take some touchdowns away from the running back.
