For months, the conversation around the Philadelphia Eagles revolved around one lingering question: what will happen with star wide receiver A. J. Brown?
Brown has been the subject of persistent trade speculation throughout the offseason, with NFL insiders and analysts repeatedly suggesting the All-Pro pass catcher could be on the move as the team navigates cap considerations and future roster planning.
While no deal materialized, the rumors remained a constant backdrop to Philadelphia’s early offseason activity.

Now, a new development may be adding fuel to that speculation.
According to reports on Tuesday, the Eagles are set to host Omar Cooper Jr., one of the top wide receivers in the 2026 class, for a pre-draft “Top 30” visit.
The meeting signals that Philadelphia is doing serious homework on the explosive Indiana Hoosiers playmaker ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, where the team currently holds the No. 23 overall pick.

Cooper emerged as one of the most dynamic offensive weapons in college football during his time at Indiana.
After redshirting in 2022, he gradually worked his way into a larger role before breaking out during the final stretch of his collegiate career.
In 2025, Cooper delivered the type of season that firmly placed him on NFL draft boards.
The 6-foot, 200-pound wideout finished with 69 receptions for 937 yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging 13.6 yards per catch.
His performance earned him second-team All-Big Ten honors and Biletnikoff Award semifinalist recognition, reflecting his status among the nation’s top receivers.
By the time the season ended, Cooper had cemented himself as a key figure in Indiana’s offense and one of the most intriguing receiver prospects in the upcoming draft.

Pre-draft visits do not guarantee selection, but they often reveal which prospects teams view as legitimate options.
In this case, the timing is noteworthy.
With Brown’s long-term future in Philadelphia uncertain, the Eagles’ interest in a potential first-round receiver naturally raises questions about whether the organization is preparing for a possible transition at the position.
Most draft projections currently place him somewhere in the Day 2 range, though a strong pre-draft process could push him into late first-round consideration, right around where Philadelphia is currently slated to pick.
