Drake Maye and the New England Patriots will take the field for a Super Bowl LX matchup against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night.

The NFL title game will take place at Santa Clara's Levi's Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers.

Both teams arrived in the Bay Area last week and logged multiple practice sessions leading up to Sunday's Super Bowl matchup.

Maye has grown accustomed to the cold New England temperatures since his arrival as the Patriots' first-round pick in the 2024 draft. But, the second-year NFL quarterback is looking forward to playing in California's beautiful February weather on Sunday evening.

When Super Bowl LX kicks off at 3:30 p.m. local time, temperatures are forecast at around 67 degrees Fahrenheit.

According to Patriots quarterbacks coach Ashton Grant, Maye is feeling extra confident with these favorable weather conditions.

“He made a comment to me at practice (this week) about the weather,” Grant said, via Mark Daniels of MassLive. “And it just made me laugh. He was like, ‘Ashton, I can put the ball wherever I want to in this weather.’

“Having that physical ability must be pretty sweet.”

Grant, a first-year QBs coach with the Patriots, is impressed with what he's seen from Maye leading into Sunday's Super Bowl clash.

“Just the comfortability of a 22-year-old kid at the time to get on the board and draw concepts that he liked,” Grant said. “He could visualize some of the things that Josh [McDaniels] was talking about. I knew super early that he had the potential to be a difference maker.

“I think that’s the difference with a lot of guys. I think my IQ’s pretty good, but I can’t do 20% of what Drake Maye can do. I think that’s the blend of really good quarterbacks being able to take the meeting room to the field, but actually go out there and execute it.”

The last time Maye and the Patriots took the field, the weather conditions were far less favorable.

With blizzard-like conditions at Denver's Mile High Stadium, Maye completed just 10 of his 21 pass attempts for 86 yards in a 10-7 AFC Championship victory over the Broncos. The NFL MVP runner-up is expected to put forth much better numbers with ideal weather conditions for Super Bowl LX.
