The Dallas Cowboys got more bad news injury-wise as owner Jerry Jones has revealed that star cornerback Trevon Diggs is dealing with a tear in his calf. He has not practiced with the team all week and is likely to miss this coming week due to the injury.

Losing Diggs for this game would be massive for the Cowboys as they are already dealing with injuries to multiple defenders. Star pass rusher Micah Parsons is dealing with an ankle sprain and he hasn't been able to play in weeks.

Cornerback DaRon Bland continues to be out while working his way back from a stress fracture. Dallas had hoped that at least one of Parsons or Bland would be able to return this week but it doesn't seem to be the case.

On the year, Diggs has put up 28 total tackles with zero sacks and one interception. He has been a key piece to this defensive unit so his absence will be felt if he is unable to go on Sunday.

The Dallas secondary gets pretty thin if Diggs isn't able to go. They would be relying on Caelan Carson, Andrew Booth Jr., and C.J. Goodwin for this upcoming game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Dallas has struggled this season so far, holding a record of 3-4 on the year. If they were to drop this game to Atlanta, it could send their season into a downward spiral.

Quarterback Dak Prescott called this game against the Falcons a "must-win", putting extra emphasis on this matchup.

"Yeah. Yeah. Hell to me every game is but obviously 3-4, as I've said, lot of season left, but the first start to be able to say that confidently is getting back even, especially having a couple of home ones after that. Yeah."

The Cowboys sit behind the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East so each passing game is crucial. Washington has a record of 6-2 on the season while the Eagles are right behind them at 5-2.

If Dallas can find a way to win against the Falcons, despite all the injuries, it could set them up well for a potential playoff run. Atlanta is 5-3 on the year so the Cowboys are facing direct competition for a potential wild-card berth down the stretch of the season.
