If you’re reading this, you likely fall into one of two camps.
Either you're a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and holding onto hope that they can continue rolling along, and you want to know the worst-case scenarios just in case. Or you’re not a fan of the Chiefs and want to know at the exact moment Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and Travis Kelce are eliminated from playoff contention so you can celebrate.
Both are welcome, and yes, the Chiefs, who have made three straight Super Bowl appearances, can be eliminated from the postseason this weekend.

Below are the doomsday scenarios that will knock the Chiefs out of the playoffs by the beginning of next week.
First, they must lose to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. If they win, their chances of making the postseason will rise from 13% to 19%. If they lose, it drops to below 1%.

If the Chargers beat them at Arrowhead Stadium, there are three other games of not. If all three of these outcomes happen, the Chiefs are out.
• The Buffalo Bills (9-4) must beat the New England Patriots (11-2)
• The Jacksonville Jaguars (9-4) must beat the New York Jets (3-10)
• The Houston Texans (8-5) must beat the Arizona Cardinals (3-10)
All four of the games occur at the same time during the morning window on Sunday. There is a chance that by the time the slate moves to the afternoon and early evening, the Chiefs’ season might already be over before the intro of “Sunday Night Football” plays.
