The Kansas City Chiefs' offense ripped through the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7, jumping to a 31-0 lead before the end of the third quarter and letting the starters rest to close out the game.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 26 of 35 passes for 286 yards and three touchdowns, while tight end Travis Kelce led the team in receiving with 54 yards and wide receiver Rashee Rice, in his first game back from suspension, led the team in receptions (seven), targets (10) and touchdowns (two).
Seven other receivers caught passes, and five different players racked up yards on the ground. On Thursday, Mahomes spoke to the balanced passing attack.

"It speaks to the room," he said. "We have a lot of talented guys there. So, you never know where it's going to hit. Obviously, Rashee (Rice) is going to get a lot of targets and receptions, Xavier (Worthy) same way, and 'Hollywood' (Brown). But at the same time, Tyquan (Thornton) can hit a 30-yard completion at any moment, JuJu (Smith-Schuster) can hit a 15-20-yard completion at any moment, Brashard (Smith) can hit a 20-yard completion at any moment. You don't know where it's going to come from.
"You want to keep defenses guessing. All of these guys are going to get a lot of catches, and they're going to have their moment, but they'll be ready to go whenever that moment comes."

While Kelce currently leads the team in receiving (375 yards and two TDs on 31 receptions), several other receivers contribute on a weekly basis, to Mahomes' point.
"Hollywood" Brown has 316 receiving yards and a team-high four receiving touchdowns on 32 catches, Tyquan Thornton has 311 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns on 14 catches, and Juju Smith-Schuster has 260 receiving yards and one TD on 22 catches.
Second-year WR Xavier Worthy also has 180 receiving yards and 66 rushing yards (in just five games), while Brashard Smith, Kareem Hunt and Noah Gray regularly contribute through the air as well.
In fact, the Chiefs are the only team in the NFL with at least seven players with 250 scrimmage yards or more this season (no other team has more than five).

This moment is indicative of how the Chiefs' offense has evolved over the years, from a once one-dimensional offense driven primarily by Kelce or previously Tyreek Hill, to a more balanced game plan built around an array of pass-catchers.
Mahomes has already won three Super Bowls, three Super Bowl MVPs, two league MVPs, and is by many standards one of the greatest QBs in NFL history, but he still wants to ensure that opposing defenses never know what to expect week to week.
As a result, Kansas City’s championship window looks wider than ever.
