Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach has shared details on the team potentially trading for a wide receiver.
During the game between the Chiefs and the New York Jets, Tracy Wolfson of CBS Sports said she spoke to Veach about the team's trade plans ahead of the deadline. She said that Kansas City is looking for a wide receiver and will continue to have discussions with teams.
"We've been talking about the lack of deep threats for the Chiefs," Wolfson said on the CBS broadcast. "I've spoke with GM Brett Veach before the game. He told me that as the trade deadline approaches, the focus continues to be at that wide receiver position.

Will the Chiefs Land a Wide Receiver Before the Trade Deadline?
Heading into Week 9, the Chiefs' leading receiver is tight end Travis Kelce, who has 29 receptions for 410 yards and two touchdowns. Kansas City's top wide receiver is Xavier Worthy, who had 20 receptions for 243 yards and two TDs before the Jets game.
While the top wide receivers might be off the market, FOX Sports has linked Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs to the Chiefs. Through eight games this year, Downs has caught 30 passes for 300 yards and one touchdown. He is in the final year of his rookie contract with the Colts.
Entering Sunday's game, the Chiefs are 5-2 and half a game behind the Denver Broncos for the lead in the AFC West. Kansas City missed the playoffs in 2025 after playing in the previous three Super Bowls.
