The Chiefs being viewed as a fit for Thomas is not too challenging to understand. The Chiefs need to improve at the wide receiver position, and Thomas is one of the top options in the trade market right now. Thus, it would make a lot of sense for Kansas City to make a major push for Thomas as we inch closer to the trade deadline.
If the Chiefs landed Thomas, they would be adding a young wide receiver who has shown in the past that he can be a star. This was certainly the case when he was a rookie in 2024, as he posted 10 touchdowns and 1,282 receiving yards in 17 games with the Jaguars. Perhaps joining a team like the Chiefs could help the former Pro Bowler regain this form.
With the Chiefs needing help at the wide receiver position, it would make sense if they made a serious push for Thomas ahead of the deadline.
