After weeks of not having running back Isiah Pacheco and defensive end Charles Omenihu on the active roster, the Kansas City Chiefs have announced that both star players are being activated off the IR.

Pacheco has been out with a fractured fibula since Week 2, and Omenihu has yet to make his season debut after suffering a torn ACL in 2023. Now, both will be joining an undefeated team that continues to remain hot.
With Pacheco sidelined for weeks, the team has relied on Kareem Hunt to take over rushing duties. Hunt has done a fantastic job, and he will now be joined by Pacheco, giving the Chiefs a dangerous one-two combo on the ground.

Pacheco was meant to be the premiere running back for the Chiefs, but the leg injury has sidelined him since Week 2. The speedy back secured 135 yards and one touchdown on the ground before the injury, including 54 receiving yards.
Pacheco secured 935 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground, along with 244 receiving yards and two touchdowns receiving in 2023.
The Chiefs offense is far more dangerous with dual-threat running backs, and now the team will have two. Hunt has always been the same type of offensive threat, and he has filled in nicely with Pacheco out.
Through six games, Hunt has secured 449 yards and five touchdowns on the ground, along with 116 receiving yards.
On top of getting back a huge offensive weapon in Pacheco, the Chiefs will also get back defensive end Omenihu. Omenihu had a fantastic season in 2023, securing seven sacks and two forced fumbles.
After joining the Chiefs from the San Francisco 49ers, Omenihu added another scary element to a defense that already has Chris Jones, Justin Reid, and so much more. Omenihu suffered a torn ACL in the AFC Championship game, and would not make the Super Bowl, but he was a core reason the Chiefs' defense was so formidable in 2023.

What makes Pacheco and Omenihu returning even scarier for AFC teams is the Chiefs are already 9-0 on the season. Even when their backs are against the wall, they find a way to win. Like on Sunday when the special teams came up with a blocked field goal to secure the Chiefs' ninth win on the season.
Now, the Chiefs will have back both a Pro Bowl-caliber running back and defensive end in their quest to secure the first-ever third consecutive Super Bowl victory.
