Every NFL player has rituals they must abide by that they believe provides them with the extra luck needed to win the big game. Kansas City Chiefs star Chris Jones is no different.

Jones ensured that he received a special delivery in preparation for Super Bowl LIX. That delivery is meatballs made by defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo's Wife. Maria Spagnuolo has fed the team many times over, but her meatballs have become a staple for Jones regarding the Super Bowl.

NFL reporter Cameron Wolfe revealed a bit more about the ritual.
"Chris Jones has a secret weapon, the meatball of Maria Spagnuolo, the wife of Chiefs' defensive coordinator Spags. Look, she brought them to him on Saturday. He's a big superstition guy. The same cleats, the same gloves, and he needs those meatballs to play well. And now he is ready to feast on the Eagles. He told me priority number one is 'Stop Saquon Barkley..."

Jones and the Chiefs team have long been fed by the Spagnuolo family, and they detailed the kind of cooking they get to USA Today.
"'That's pivotal for the success of the team,' Chris Jones, the All-Pro defensive tackle, declared during his media session on Wednesday morning."
"You know what I really like about it? It connects my wife to my guys," Spagnuolo told USA TODAY Sports. "I'm away from her and I'm with these guys all the time. I love the fact that we're able to connect her and make her part of the whole thing."
Whatever the Chiefs need to ensure their success is likely to be granted so they can make history on Sunday.
Should Kansas City secure the big win against the Eagles, they will become the first team in NFL history that has secured a three-peat. A lot of their success is based on the play of Jones and the strong defense.
Jones nearly walked in free agency following the conclusion of the 2023 season, but the front office instead gave him a five-year, $158.75 million deal. He secured five sacks this season.
Jones will be relied on heavily to help stop the stalwart rushing attack from Eagles superstar Saquon Barkley. As Jones stated to Wolfe, a big goal for the defense is to keep Barkley from rifling off big runs.
The meatballs from Maria Spagnuolo might just be the push that Jones and the defense need to come out victorious.
