The Chicago Bears officially completed a trade on Wednesday to send DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills, ending the popular wide receiver's three-season stint in the Windy City.
That marked the closing of a storybook chapter for the Bears, who had a magical season and playoff run that nearly culminated in an appearance in the NFC Championship Game. Moore had many highlight-worthy catches while playing for Chicago, including heroic receptions in critical game moments.
Several of those occurred last season, with his unbelievable 46-yard game-winning touchdown catch against the Green Bay Packers in overtime, one that many fans will remember for quite some time. Upon Wednesday's trade completion, the Bears sent a message and tribute for Moore that had many fans feeling strong emotions about his time in Chicago.

On social media platforms, the Bears shared a tribute video featuring many of Moore's highlights. It opens with a glimpse of a catch against the Packers, followed by a look at Moore and family in Chicago. It soon transitions into a reel of receptions and other fun clips, including that miraculous OT catch versus Green Bay.
Fittingly, a clip of Moore in the locker room with a foam cheese grater hat appeared after that particular moment. Teammates chanted "Go DJ, Go DJ," as he danced a bit to celebrate.
The video turns to black and white as Moore gestures to the crowd to show appreciation at a game, with "Thank you, DJ" appearing as text over the tribute as it ends.
"Thank you for the joy you brought this city," a message for Moore said in the X (formerly Twitter) message, including a blue heart emoji.
"For your hard work, your dedication to the community and of course, THAT catch. Thank you, DJ," another message on X for Moore said.
The Bears’ trade sent Moore and a 2026 fifth-round pick to Buffalo for a 2026 second-round pick to help the team upgrade their roster through the NFL Draft, or possibly use in another trade package. While the loss likely stings a bit for Bears fans, they will now look to a future full of talented young players in their receiving corps.
That includes receivers Rome Odunze, Luther Burden III, and tight ends Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet as targets for Williams to find as he continues his ascension in the league. Along with that, the offense features a strong running back tandem in D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai.
Meanwhile, Moore joins the third team of his career, this time joining former NFL MVP Josh Allen and the Bills, as they look to make another push to reach the Super Bowl, something neither Allen nor Moore has accomplished in their careers.
