The Los Angeles Chargers have already added a notable wide receiver this summer, reuniting with Keenan Allen following the sudden retirement of Mike Williams. But could they add another, and could they steal one away from the Green Bay Packers?
Bleacher Report's Alex Kay has suggested a trade in which the Chargers would send a seventh-round draft pick to the Packers in exchange for Romeo Doubs, who could end up being an odd man out in Green Bay's stacked wide receiver room.

"With Mike Williams surprisingly retiring shortly after joining the team, the Chargers should be willing to take a chance on Doubs blossoming in their offense," Kay wrote. "It remains to be seen how much Keenan Allen has left in the tank and proven depth looks shaky behind breakout star Ladd McConkey in the receiving corps."
Doubs is entering the final year of his contract and is part of a Packers receiving corps that also includes Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, Christian Watson and rookies Matthew Golden and Savion Williams.

It seems hard to imagine Green Bay keeping all of those wideouts moving forward, and it's important to remember that Doubs expressed displeasure over his role last year. But would the Chargers really be able to land Doubs for a seventh-rounder?
That's the part that seems unlikely in all of this. Doubs caught 46 passes for 601 yards and four touchdowns in just 13 games last season, and the year prior, he hauled in 59 receptions for 674 yards and eight scores.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound receiver definitely still has room to grow and doesn't turn 26 until next April, so the Packers can almost certainly do better than a seventh-round pick for him. In fact, there is probably a team out there that would surrender a fourth-rounder just to bag Doubs.

Los Angeles definitely comprises an interesting potential destination for Doubs, but the Chargers probably won't be aggressively looking for a pass-catcher after recently signing Allen.
This is a partnership that would have made a lot more sense a month or so ago, and even then, Los Angeles wasn't getting Doubs for a seventh-rounder.
