It's no secret that some NFL teams get much more exposure than others.

Some smaller-market teams find themselves buried in the Sunday slate or, if they do get a standalone game, it's a much less-watched Thursday night matchup.

For players coming into the league out of college, where pretty much all of every team's games are available to watch nationwide, it can be an adjustment.

Thankfully, former NFL MVP Cam Newton has a comparison to help the youngsters understand.

'The Football Gods Have Smiled on You'

Newton recently appeared on the "Downs 2 Business" podcast, which is hosted by brothers and NFL players Josh and Caleb Downs.

Josh Downs is getting set for his fourth season, all with the Indianapolis Colts, while Caleb Downs is preparing for his rookie campaign as a Dallas Cowboy.

Though the brothers are both in the NFL, their situations are quite different, as Newton explained.

"Caleb, you are going to a star-infested team — no pun intended, right?" Newton said. "You got the highest-paid quarterback on your team, you have one of the most highest-paid receivers. You've got George Pickens at the helm. You've got the most influential team owner in all of sports, so you've got to look at it like you're walking into a Netflix special."

And for Josh Downs?

"Hey look, Josh over there went to a team that's barely on Tubi," Newton joked.

As Newton and Caleb shared a laugh, Josh added a bit of context of his own.

"There are teams that get all the pub, and there are teams that don't get as much," Josh said.

He then explained to his younger brother that even for high-profile NFL players, Caleb's path from Alabama to Ohio State and now the Cowboys is a special one.

"You got the spotlight from god ... the football gods have smiled on you bro," Josh said.
