Travis Kelce has yet to make a decision about his future. The future Hall of Famer is mulling retirement, but he's also sounded as if he'll be back with the Kansas City Chiefs.

That said, nothing is official until he puts pen to paper. As a free agent, other teams can swoop in. Considering that, some believe he might be bracing for an Ohio homecoming.

In a recent predictions column, Matt Verderame of Sports Illustrated cited the Cleveland Browns as the most logical fit for Kelce if he doesn't return to Kansas City:

"If Kelce doesn’t retire, the smart money says he and the Chiefs will work out a one-year deal, but if he’s available, he should have ample suitors," Verderame wrote.

The Browns already have a budding star at tight end in Harold Fannin Jr., but they can certainly use Kelce to shape and mold him for a year or two. They also have a need at the position since David Njoku will leave in free agency.

This might sound far-fetched, but Kelce, who attended Cincinnati before the Chiefs took him with the 63rd pick, admittedly grew up a Browns fan.

In a 2025 interview with GQ, the three-time Super Bowl champion told a story of how he cried when pleading with the Browns to take him in the pre-Draft process:

“I cried in (then Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski) Chud’s office and said, ‘I will [expletive]die for this city!’” Kelce recalled. “Was in tears… said, ‘I’m sorry, I’m getting emotional. I grew up down the street. I would [expletive] do anything to play for the Cleveland Browns.’”

Kelce has already won everything in the league, and he may go down as the greatest receiving tight end in league history. So, with nothing left to prove in his career, heading back home for the final passage of his playing days would be the ultimate full-circle moment.
