Denver Broncos wide receiver Jaylen Waddle reaggravated an injury during the team's Week 7 win against the Arizona Cardinals, leaving his status up in the air for Week 8. However, the star wide receiver is doing everything he can to leave the door open to play this week.
According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, the Broncos listed Waddle as a limited participant on Thursday with the chest injury that kept him from practicing on Wednesday.

Of course, that far from guarantees Waddle will be available to play come Sunday, but it is certainly a step in the right direction, especially given how the injury occurred.
It reportedly happened when Waddle fell on the ball after a botched reverse that Broncos head coach Sean Payton later called an “awful” playcall.

The Broncos have also invested a lot in Waddle to be their bonafide No. 1 wide receiver. The team traded its 2026 first, third, and fourth-round picks to the Miami Dolphins this offseason in exchange for Waddle and a 2026 fourth-round pick.
Since then, Waddle has recorded 26 catches for 276 yards and one touchdown, leaving a lot left to be desired.
Luckily, there is a lot of season left for Waddle to make the impact Denver likely envisioned he would. He just needs to get healthy first.
The No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Waddle has recorded 399 catches for 5,315 yards and 27 touchdowns in his professional career.
