On Tuesday, Jan. 28, the Buffalo Bills promoted Joe Brady to the role of head coach of the franchise. He signed a five-year contract with the Buffalo Bills and is set to be the youngest coach in the NFL.

One of the reasons the Bills hired Brady is because he has a close relationship with quarterback Josh Allen. "We know each other really well, I've got a lot of faith in him, and he's got faith in me," Allen said before the 2025 season.

Brady had been serving as offensive coordinator since the 2023 season. "At the end of the day, this is Josh Allen's offense," Brady said in May of 2024. "You're going to put together the offense around the guys that you've got ..." he said. "There'll be some elements of things that I believe in, but it's more of like, tell me who we have on our football team and the guys and what they can do well and we're going to do that."

"I give up. U guys lost me," one said on X. "Josh should ask for a trade," another said. "Disappointing," another said. "It's crazy. The OC who failed the bills is now HC," another added. "This whole process has been so poorly managed I had to check to make sure Jerry Jones hadn’t purchased your team," another said.

"What's the point of hiring someone within when (your) whole reasoning of firing your coach was to bring something new," another said. "You can't be serious ... So basically you fired your good defensive HC and hired ... The OC you already had? I mean are we serious? You are returning a downgraded coaching staff to what you already had," one more added.

Some followers were more complimentary of the move. "I called this last week. It was the obvious play for Josh Allen and continuity," one said. "The only smart move," another added.
