Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has joined some elite company after achieving a historic NFL performance that put him in the exclusive company of several all-time greats.
The three-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time Comeback Player of the Year led his squad to a decisive 34-17 victory over the Atlanta Falcons as the two teams played in Madrid, Spain. Burrow completed 24 of 29 passes for 271 yards and three touchdowns.
The Bengals' quarterback also ran in a touchdown to help in the team's big win. With his latest day's work, he became the fifth player in NFL history with at least four passing/rushing touchdowns in four straight games, per ESPN Insights.

Burrow joins an exclusive club of elite quarterbacks, which includes legends Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Dan Marino. Each of those players had a legendary career, and three of the four are former Super Bowl winners.

Brady won seven Super Bowl rings in his career, six of which were with the New England Patriots. While Peyton Manning won two Super Bowls as quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos, Brees won one ring with the New Orleans Saints.
Marino is the only quarterback from the group, besides Burrow, who doesn't have a Super Bowl ring. However, Marino had a stellar career and currently ranks among the top 10 quarterbacks in all-time completions, passing yards, and passing touchdowns.
Burrow is putting together a brilliant career that could have him discussed among these NFL greats. He's now thrown for 23,196 yards and 180 touchdowns following his performance in Madrid. He'll need to continue playing for a while to get himself the sort of numbers on the all-time lists, but it's certainly possible.
While Burrow's numbers are nice, that first Super Bowl ring is what he's truly seeking with this team. Sunday's win was their fourth straight victory, making them one of the hottest teams in the league.
The way the Bengals have started their season has led some to consider them a strong contender to once again reach the big game behind Burrow as they did in February 2022. Cincinnati improved to 6-2 with their win over the Falcons in Madrid and are now tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the AFC North.
