Higgins has missed three consecutive games due to a quad injury he sustained while running routes in practice, leading to speculation that he would be unable to hit the field in Week 11. While it sounds like Taylor is still hedging his bets slightly, the wide receiver will almost certainly face the Chargers.

Tee Higgins played college football at Clemson University, where he was a key contributor to their high-powered offense. He earned First-Team All-ACC honors in 2019 and played a pivotal role in leading the Tigers to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2018.

Selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Higgins quickly emerged as one of the team's top receiving threats. In his rookie season, he recorded 67 receptions for 908 yards and 6 touchdowns. He followed up with a standout second year in 2021, surpassing 1,000 receiving yards and helping the Bengals make a deep playoff run to Super Bowl LVII, solidifying his status as one of the top young wide receivers in the NFL.

Taylor mentioned on Wednesday that both Higgins and offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr.—who has also been sidelined for the past few games—were able to take part in walk-throughs. Taylor noted that both players are making progress and are on track to potentially play. However, Brown, who is dealing with knee and fibula issues, was officially listed as DNP on Wednesday.

At 4-6, the Bengals are currently just outside the wild-card playoff race. Despite the challenges they've faced this season, the playoffs remain within reach. Cincinnati has upcoming games against teams directly ahead of them in the standings, including the Denver Broncos and Chargers.

If the Bengals can win these key matchups, they could put themselves back in serious playoff contention. But in order to do so, the team is going to need all hands on deck, so hopefully, for them, Higgins will actually hit the field this Sunday to face the Chargers.
