The Cincinnati Bengals are currently 2-4 on the year, but their season has not gotten away from them just yet. The team brought in Joe Flacco to replace the struggling Jake Browning, and he has given the team life once again. However, an important All-Pro has become a "long shot" to play in Thursday Night Football.

Cincinnati has an offense that can put up points, considering the team has arguably the best wide receiver tandem in the NFL with Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. The weak point for the team is the defense, which may miss All-Pro defensive end Trey Hendrickson.

Hendrickson is currently dealing with a hip injury that has him questionable heading into the showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Though he is angling to be in the game, Ian Rapoport has stated that Hendrickson has a "long shot" to suit up.

"He [Hendrickson] is officially questionable with a hip injury. He was ruled out of the game with a back injury, now questionable with a hip injury. My understanding is that despite the fact that he is really pushing to play, he is considered a bit of a long shot. It's just a quick turnaround from Sunday to Thursday. I am not saying that he has no chance, but it's not a great chance. If you know Trey Hendrickson well, you know he is absolutely dying to be out on that field," Rapoport said.

It sounds like Hendrickson will try his hardest to be on the field, but the Bengals' training staff may step in and prevent the star pass rusher from taking the field too early. A short week with two presumed injuries is not a good start.

As Rapoport said, Hendrickson was ruled out in Week 6 due to a back injury, which may have been misdiagnosed. Regardless, the Bengals defender has a hip injury that could prevent him from taking the field.

Hendrickson has four sacks and one forced fumble through five games of action. Though he is incredibly disruptive when he is out on the field, he may need this week to fully heal.

The unfortunate aspect of Hendrickson potentially being out is that the Bengals will then face a high-powered Steelers offense without their best pass rusher. Aaron Rodgers can sling the ball, so Hendrickson would be a welcome sight if he can play, though that does not seem to be the case currently.
