The NFL trade deadline on Nov. 4 is fast approaching, and there will be plenty of trade rumors flying around regarding superstar players. One such player that continues to be discussed is Cincinnati Bengals star defensive end Trey Hendrickson.

Hendrickson and the Bengals were in a months-long standoff regarding his contract, which led to the star defender requesting a trade. Ultimately, Cincinnati awarded him a revised one-year $30 million contract.

Beyond the 2025 season, Hendrickson is likely to move to another team if the Bengals are not willing to give him a long-term deal. Considering the offseason drama, his name has come up in plenty of trade reports and rumors, with the San Francisco 49ers being a prime landing spot.

The 49ers need pass rush help after losing Nick Bosa and Fred Warner to season-ending injuries. Despite their big need, it appears that the trade rumors surrounding Hendrickson are false.

According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini, "Bengals All-Pro pass rusher Trey Hendrickson is drawing attention around the league, with the 49ers showing the most interest. Cincinnati isn’t shopping him, and after the Bengals’ Thursday night win, most do not expect him to get moved."

The Bengals upset the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night, improving to 3-4 on the season. Joe Flacco has given the team new life, and there is hope they can keep things steady while Joe Burrow recovers from his turf toe injury and surgery.

Considering the team won't need to engage in a fire sale due to a poor record, the Bengals have no intention of moving Hendrickson. To be fair, they likely didn't have any intention of moving him, period. But now, the defense will surely need his abilities moving forward.

The Bengals are betting on now, and they will likely work on a new deal with Hendrickson in the 2026 offseason. The star pass rusher has four sacks through six games thus far. He will miss Week 7 due to a hip injury, but he still has a big shot to land double-digit sacks in 2025.

If Hendrickson can secure over 17 sacks like he did the previous two seasons, the Bengals may have to make him the highest-paid pass rusher in the NFL.
