The Chicago Bears defeated the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night, with big contributions from all three phases of the game, including a defense energized by the arrival of defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons.

Simmons made an immediate impact in his Bears debut, recording six tackles and his first sack with Chicago after taking down quarterback Sam Darnold. His arrival showed how much of an impact he might have on teammates, too.

Other players also stepped up on defense alongside Simmons, including Devin Bush, who recorded six tackles and a sack. Multiple Bears defenders had five tackles apiece, including Jaylon Johnson, Tyrique Stevenson, and Dillon Thieneman.

After the win, quarterback Caleb Williams was asked about having Simmons as a new teammate, and he praised the arrival of a player who could become a defensive anchor for the 6-2 Bears.

"Yeah, it's... I'm happy he's on our ... It's Jefe. I'm happy he's on our side," Williams said regarding Simmons.

Simmons, 29, joined the Bears last week after a blockbuster trade with the Tennessee Titans. The Bears sent multiple first-round picks, and many questioned whether Simmons was worth giving up those valuable picks. However, he's already shown his value by helping the Bears defeat a tough Seahawks team in Seattle.

"I said it in my press conference when I first got here. Them guys keep scoring; we're gonna continue to get them the ball back," Simmons told Laura Rutledge after the "MNF" win.

"Some stuff I gotta clean up. Man, I'm so excited to be a Chicago Bear!" he said.

During several moments, Simmons was shown on camera interacting with Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, including slapping hands on the sideline and hugging him postgame as the team celebrated a huge win.

Chicago has now defeated the two teams from this past February's Super Bowl LX back-to-back. They defeated the New England Patriots in Chicago on "Thursday Night Football," then followed it up with a "Monday Night Football" victory over the defending champions.

With their success through the first half of the NFL season under head coach Ben Johnson, along with Williams' development and Simmons' arrival on defense, the Bears are beginning to look like legitimate Super Bowl contenders.

The Kalshi prediction market currently shows the Bears at 11%, the third-best chance of winning the big game behind only the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers.

They still have some challenging games remaining on their schedule, including battles with multiple NFC North rivals.

They'll have two games against division rivals, the Detroit Lions, and rematches with the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers. They'll also have a clash against Josh Allen and the 6-1 Buffalo Bills from the AFC as another test in December.
