The NCAA Tournament consists of four regions, which means fans can expect up to four games tipping off at staggered times across Thursday and Friday’s first round.

With so much coverage, a wide roster of play-by-play announcers and color commentators are scheduled to call these matchups. One of them is TNT’s Brian Anderson, who has been calling March Madness games since 2012.

Anderson was set to be in Buffalo, New York, where his first assignment was the No. 11 South Florida Bulls vs. No. 6 Louisville Cardinals at 1:30 p.m. EST.

However, a sudden change was made as Anderson is battling an illness, which was noticeable during Tuesday’s First Four broadcast of NC State vs. Texas, where he worked alongside Charles Barkley and Dick Vitale.

Filling in for Anderson during Thursday’s four games in Buffalo is NBC’s Jason Benetti, who will be joined by analyst Jim Jackson and sideline reporter Allie LaForce.

Anderson’s absence could extend into Friday’s action as well. According to The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand, he is hoping to return by Saturday for the Round of 32.

The matchups that Anderson is expected to miss Thursday, aside from the South Florida–Louisville game, include No. 14 North Dakota State vs. No. 13 Michigan State, No. 16 Howard vs. No. 1 Michigan, and No. 8 Saint Louis vs. No. 9 Georgia.

All of these games will be played at the KeyBank Center, with tipoff times scheduled roughly two and a half hours apart. However, they could be adjusted depending on how long the previous game runs.
