Utah HC Reacts to Team Taking Down BYU
"Grateful to our fans, grateful to our players, not a lot of extracurricular stuff after the plays, but I have nothing but respect for (BYU head coach Kalani Sitake), that staff, the way they prepare their guys and the way their guys play," Scalley said. "Having said that, I'm also very proud of our guys. A ton of fight coming in at halftime. Turning the ball over and dropping some passes, giving up chunk yardage on defense. Just wanted to see what that was going look like, and it was a thing of beauty."
Utah QB Devon Dampier led the Utes with 177 passing yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 89 yards and two scores in the win.
"We're just like, let's keep going, let's keep going, and that's been the mentality," Dampier said. "We're 1-0 this week, and we're happy right now, but man, we got a long season to continue to go. We got bigger plans than just this win right here."
