No head coach in college football could be facing more pressure to win this weekend than Lincoln Riley.

The USC Trojans are unranked after a deflating 24-7 loss to Wisconsin in Week 8 on the road. The loss dropped the Trojans to 6-2 on the season. With four more games remaining on its schedule, a loss would pretty much kill USC's chances of making the College Football Playoff.

That makes Saturday night's game in Los Angeles critical for Riley. USC will host No. 2 Ohio State at 4:30 p.m. PT (7:30 p.m. ET). The Buckeyes will be without starting quarterback Julian Sayin, who suffered a right throwing arm/shoulder injury in a 19-15 win over Indiana on Oct. 17.

A source told On3's Pete Nakos that Riley's status at USC should be considered "week to week" for the rest of the season before the Trojans get ready to play Ohio State. Riley has not made the CFP during his first four seasons with the Trojans. He was facing pressure to make the CFP this year to save his job.

Earlier this week, Riley said he wants to remain at USC. He believes it's the right program for him and has turned down other opportunities to leave USC in previous seasons.

"I love it here. I mean like I told you guys a lot of times -- there's not many people in college football history that gave up what I gave up to come here," Riley said, via Reuters. "I don't care if it's 15 years down the line, that never should be taken lightly. It's certainly not taken lightly by me. ‌I came here because I believe in this place and none of that has changed whatsoever."

Riley, 43, made three CFP appearances with the Oklahoma Sooners back when the playoff format had four teams. He's 41-20 overall and 27-14 in conference play with the Trojans.
