UConn Huskies head coach Dan Hurley was scorching hot near the end of his team's disappointing loss to the Marquette Golden Eagles, earning an ejection from the game.

With the No. 4 Huskies playing at Marquette and looking to clinch a share of the Big East Conference title, the Golden Eagles came to play on senior day, ultimately claiming a 68-62 victory.

Nigel James Jr. led the way with 19 points on 7-of-19 shooting to go with seven assists, while teammate Chase Ross contributed 14 points and grabbed five rebounds.

UConn, down by 12 at one point in the game, fought its way back to a two-point deficit and nearly achieved a tying basket. With under five seconds remaining, guard Silas Demary Jr.'s aggressive drive down the lane to the hoop resulted in a collision in the lane, and Marquette came away with the ball.

Chaos then erupted with Hurley completely losing it after that, as he was shouting at John Gaffney, the referee nearest to him on the sidelines. According to commentators and in a replay, Hurley also made contact with the official.

As seen in a video replay below, Hurley gets extremely close to Gaffney, screams at him, and bumps him. Gaffney quickly issued two technical fouls to the UConn head coach, resulting in his ejection from the game with about a second remaining on the clock.

Hurley exited for the locker room, and with that, any chance of UConn winning the game ended due to the two technicals.

After UConn's head coach exited for the locker room, Marquette sealed their victory, making four more free throws to achieve the six-point win. Demary led the Huskies with 17 points, eight assists, and four rebounds, while Taris Reed Jr. scored 16 points to go with 10 rebounds in the loss.

Marquette celebrated the massive upset on their senior day after the final horn sounded.

Hurley's ejection for making contact with the official is likely to result in a fine, though it's unclear whether additional punishment could follow.

The Huskies, now 27-4 overall and 17-3 in the Big East Conference, will begin their conference tournament next week, with the expectation they'll receive a first-round bye.

That would mean they'll await the winner of a first-round matchup before playing on Thursday, March 12, in New York City's Madison Square Garden.
