The Texas Longhorns will lose one of their offensive tackle stars for the rest of the season.
Texas left tackle Trevor Goosby suffered a knee injury against the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday. In the first quarter of Saturday's game, which the Longhorns won 34-27, Goosby went down while pass blocking. He immediately held onto his left knee and couldn't walk on his left leg. He was carted off the field and didn't return to the game, although Goosby did watch from the sidelines on crutches.
Coach Steve Sarkisian knew the injury didn't look good, but the team didn't realize the severity of Goosby's injury until Sunday. Goosby is ruled out for the remainder of the 2026 college football season, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported.

Not only is Goosby's injury a loss for the Longhorns, but it also puts Goosby's future in limbo. Goosby is the top-ranked left tackle for the 2027 NFL Draft. He was even recently projected at pick No. 8 by ESPN's Field Yates in his recent mock draft.
Since the severity of Goosby's injury is publicly unknown at this time, it's hard to guess what state he'll be in come April when the NFL Draft commences. NFL teams will be taking his injury into consideration when looking at him in the offseason.
The Longhorns will have to readjust their offensive line now with Goosby out for the season. Texas quarterback Arch Manning has already been sacked 19 times this season, the 11th most in Division I.
Texas will host Mississippi State next weekend, then will compete against two ranked teams, No. 23 Missouri and No. 15 LSU, in back-to-back weeks on the road. Goosby's injury came at an unfortunate time for the Longhorns.
