Texas A&M will host No. 10 Miami in a College Football Playoff first-round game at Kyle Field on December 20, part of the 12-team bracket announced on Selection Sunday.

The game pits the Aggies’ 13th-ranked scoring offense (36.3 points per game), led by quarterback Marcel Reed, against the Hurricanes’ sixth-ranked scoring defense (13.8 points allowed per game).

On Robert Griffin III’s "Outta Pocket" podcast, Reed answered a hypothetical — if Miami offered him $4 million today, would he leave?

"I got offers after my freshman year. And yeah, I mean, I thought that this was the best place to be. I don't think there's any reason I need to leave Texas A&M," Reed said.

"I have the job and it's mine to lose. And I don't think I will, but like, there's no reason for me to leave. I think I have a great OC. I have a great coach. I have great players around me. We have the best stadium in college football, the best college town in college football."

"There's no need for me to leave and go anywhere else," Reed added.

A Nashville, Tennessee native, Reed arrived at Texas A&M in 2023, evaluated as a four-star recruit and top-20 ranked QB in his class, boasting more than 20 offers from other major college football programs.

After competing with Max Johnson and ex-five-star Conner Weigman, he gradually rose through the depth chart, gaining reps in 2024 and officially becoming the starter in 2025.

His decision to remain in College Station comes on the heels of a 2025 breakout season, where he totaled 2,932 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and added 466 rushing yards with six rushing TDs.

Those numbers helped Texas A&M finish the regular slate 11-1 (7-1 SEC) and earn a No. 7 placement in the final College Football Playoff rankings.

Reed's comments close a brief window of uncertainty that had flared amid offseason NIL chatter and heavy transfer portal activity, preserving continuity for the Aggies as they chase their first deep CFP run.
