Cal transfer Justin Pippen committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday, his agents told ESPN college basketball insider Pete Thamel.

Pippen is the son of Chicago Bulls legend and NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen. His older brother, Scotty Pippen Jr., plays for the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies.

Pippen originally joined Dusty May and the Michigan Wolverines as a four-star combo guard out of California in the 2024 class. But after averaging just 1.6 points on 6.7 minutes per game in his freshman season, he transferred to Cal for his sophomore year.

Pippen experienced a breakout season for the Golden Bears in 2025-26, averaging 14.2 points, 4.6 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.

Pippen will play a significant role for head coach Jake Diebler and the Buckeyes in 2026-27. The talented combo guard will fill a void left by the departure of Devin Royal, who entered the transfer portal following his third season in Columbus.
