After the first quarter, it looked like Saturday's contest between No. 23 Oregon and No. 12 Ohio State would end in a blowout.

The game did end in a lopsided fashion, but had a twist after Oregon went on a run in the second and third quarter.

The Buckeyes raced off to a 14-0 start in the first quarter. The Ducks responded by putting up 38 unanswered points before earning a 41-28 win at Ohio Stadium.

The final score was a little misleading, with Ohio State scoring two touchdowns late in the fourth quarter when the game was out of reach.

Per ESPN Insights, Oregon's 38-0 scoring run between the second and fourth quarter was the highest against Ohio State at home since 1999, when Wisconsin went on a 39-0 run to defeat the Buckeyes 42-17.

During his postgame news conference, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said he and his staff needed to evaluate everything going on in the program after the loss to Oregon.

“We have to evaluate everything," Day said, via Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors. "The things that we felt like we needed to do in this game, in particular on offense, were not met...

"I gotta evaluate everything and try to come in tomorrow and figure out with the staff the things that we’re just coming up short on. ... It all starts with the staff, and then it goes down to the players. There needs to be accountability for all of it.”

The Buckeyes have now lost two games in a row by double digits. Ohio State was defeated 30-18 by USC in Los Angeles in Week 9. Both of those losses have been without starting quarterback Julian Sayin, who is sidelined with a right shoulder injury.

The loss dropped Ohio State to 6-3 on the season. The Buckeyes are in jeopardy of missing the College Football Playoff. They'll next host Northwestern in Week 11.
