The Northwestern Wildcats will host the No. 19 Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday for a Big Ten showdown. However, the Wildcats will now be without starting quarterback Aidan Chiles for the contest, per ESPN's Pete Thamel.
This will be Chiles's first missed game of the season as he's led the Wildcats to an impressive 6-2 start to the season.
The senior quarterback, who is in his first year at Northwestern, is dealing with an upper body injury. It's unknown at this time how long Chiles will miss because of the injury.

The Michigan State transfer has completed 139 of 202 passes for 1,898 yards, 13 touchdowns and one interception this season. He also has scored 10 rushing touchdowns of his own from 86 carries for 274 yards. He's been a standout quarterback amongst college football as he ranks 14th in FBS with an 80.8 quarterback rating. Chiles could easily be a star come the 2027 NFL Draft, as long as he's able to return from his injury.

During his absence, however long it ends up being, backup quarterback Nicco Marchiol will start for the Wildcats. He's a transfer from West Virginia, where he posted a 6-2 record as a starter. Last season, Marchiol completed 67.3% of his passes for 720 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He sat as a backup quarterback for the Mountaineers mostly, too, during his other three seasons there.
The 6-2 Hawkeyes will be tough competition for Marchiol and the Wildcats. Iowa is coming off a huge 30-0 win over fellow Big Ten squad Wisconsin last weekend. Northwestern should put up more of a fight than the Badgers did.
