Missouri Tigers quarterback Austin Simmons has decided where he will play in 2027.
According to On3's Pete Nakos and Hayes Fawcett, Simmons has signed a deal to return to Missouri in 2027. However, Simmons can still enter the draft with his new contract.
Simmons joined Missouri this year after spending the last three seasons at Ole Miss. He has led the Tigers to a 6-2 record and ranks fourth in the SEC in passing yards (1,952) and passing touchdowns (16).

Missouri Head Coach Praises Austin Simmons Ahead of the Season
Simmons' decision to return to Missouri in 2027 comes as the Tigers prepare for a big match against No. 7 Texas this weekend. Last week, Simmons threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns to lead Missouri to a 34-10 win over Arkansas.
“I’m very excited. I think the best thing about Austin is his communication skills,” Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz said about Simmons ahead of this season. “He can communicate at a high level about what he’s seeing, what he understands, how routes are similar to what he’s done in the past that he really liked. That’s accelerated the growth between Coach [Chip] Lindsey, Coach [Garrett] Riley, and what we’re doing.
"The thing that has been really cool to watch on the offensive side of the ball, we have a lot of flexibility in scheme. It’s about we can take this concept and this concept and marry it to what Austin really likes. I think that’s what great coaches do.”
