Is Lane Kiffin the head coach of the LSU Tigers or a Batman villain?

At this point, he could be both.

In what has been a hectic transfer portal, Lane Kiffin has played the main character, antagonist, and instigator. He's seen some of his players poached, heisted even more top talent from rivals, and signed three quarterbacks who all believe they can one day be a starter in the NFL.

Over the past 24 hours, Ole Miss fans have lobbed accusations at Kiffin, saying he is sabotaging his former school by talking to some of his former players to make a late jump into the portal as the minutes tick down.

One program source even told On3 that Kiffin wanted to 'destroy' the Ole Miss locker room, having been the architect and leader only a month ago.

Well, one to never cower from the spotlight, Kiffin posted a cryptic message on social media, prompting a wildfire of speculation to spread across the internet about what he could be up to.

What could it mean?

The leading theory is that one of his former Ole Miss standout players, who recently finished their run in the College Football Playoff, will announce their intent to enter the transfer portal in the final minutes before the portal closes.

Pete Golding has done his best to keep the ship intact since the Rebels fell in the Fiesta Bowl to the Miami Hurricanes, and he's done more than an admirable job. Ole Miss has one of the strongest recruiting classes in the portal, but have seen star players such as Princewill Umanmielen depart the program after already penning them into next year's plans.

While other coaches might be joking or playing around with a mysterious message like what was posted, this is Kiffin we're talking about. The outspoken, cult-of-personality leader generally says what he's going to do and then makes it happen.

He said LSU would attack the portal aggressively, and the Tigers did just that.

If he says that something big is coming right before the transfer portal closes, we should believe him at this point.
