LSU is on a bye this week as the No. 15 Tigers get set to host No. 10 Alabama on Nov. 7.

The rivalry between the Crimson Tide and LSU is one of the most anticipated matchups in college football every year, and typically gets primetime billing. This year, the contest is set for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

During his news conference on Wednesday, LSU head coach Lane Kiffin revealed his displeasure at having a night game taken away from his fan base. He suggested the SEC purposely scheduled the game in the afternoon to give the Crimson Tide an advantage, as night games are notoriously difficult for visiting teams at Tiger Stadium.

“I was like, well, if someone thinks the SEC wants us to win this year after what’s been going on, they must have just been on Mars the last four months,” Kiffin said, via On3. “So I guess when I look at it that way, I’m not surprised.

“Especially in 16 years, this game has been at night here all the time. I never even considered that it wouldn’t be at night. So I guess that’s probably naive of me.”

Kiffin's comments come amid off-the-field issues between LSU and the conference due to the controversy surrounding players who spent time with NFL clubs being courted by the Tigers before the season.

The contest between LSU and Alabama will have implications for the SEC championship and College Football Playoff. Even though it won't be a night game, Tiger Stadium should be plenty loud when the Crimson Tide come into Baton Rouge.

Alabama has won the last three meetings between the two schools and has won 13 of the last 15 contests. LSU's only win at home against Alabama since their 2010 meeting came in 2022, when the Tigers won 32-31 in overtime.
