Arkansas Razorbacks coach John Calipari is still adding to his resume decades into his college basketball coaching career.
On Saturday, Arkansas took down Missouri 88-84 to give Calipari his 900th career victory as a college coach. Making the feat even more impressive, the win came in hostile territory and without star Darius Acuff available for the Razorbacks.
Calipari’s milestone win gives him the fifth-most victories in NCAA Division I history, surpassing legendary Indiana Hoosiers former coach Bob Knight. Calipari joins elite company in the 900-win club, which includes former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski (1,202 wins), former Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim (1,116), current St. John’s coach Rick Pitino (910) and former North Carolina coach Roy Williams (903).

Arkansas improved to 23-8 on the season and could give Calipari a chance to move up even further on the leaderboard with a successful run in the SEC tournament or the NCAA Tournament.
In 34 seasons as a college coach, Calipari is the fastest to reach the 900-win mark, achieving the feat in his 1,185th career game. He is finishing his second season with the Razorbacks after spending the previous 15 seasons at Kentucky, where he won a national championship in 2012.

Before his time in Lexington, Calipari made a name for himself by taking over at Massachusetts in 1988 and flipping the program into a Final Four team during his eight-year run. He later led Memphis for nine seasons and made another Final Four appearance.
Across Calipari’s four stops as a collegiate head coach, the Hall of Famer has a record of 900-285 and has more time to add to it.
In his second season at Arkansas, some believe he could guide the Razorbacks to a deep run in the March Madness bracket this year, potentially reaching his first Final Four since 2015 and the program’s first since 1995.
