After two weeks on the road, the UTSA Roadrunners (2-3) return to the Alamodome for Homecoming festivities on Saturday night as they host the Rice Owls (3-3) in an American matchup.

UTSA had its two-game winning streak stopped last week, returning from a bye with a 27-21 loss at Temple in its American opener. The Roadrunners led 14-3 at the half and took a 21-17 lead in the third quarter before Temple came back to secure the win. Owen McCown finished 25-of-37 for 234 yards and two touchdowns but was also intercepted twice while Patrick Overmyer ran for a score and caught a pass for another on just three touches. UTSA has won five straight over Rice at the Alamodome but lost last season's meeting on the road.

The Owls fell to 1-2 in the American with their second straight loss, falling 27-21 at Florida Atlantic last week. Quinton Jackson gave Rice its only lead with a 68-yard touchdown run on the game's first possession. Jackson finished with 128 yards on 19 carries while Chase Jenkins threw for a touchdown and ran for another in the defeat. Drayden Dickmann had four catches for 61 yards and scored on a 46-yard pass play in the third period.
