Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have some incoming help at the running back position.

On Monday, Kentucky RB transfer Dante Dowdell announced his commitment to join the Bulldogs before their 2026 college football campaign.

Dowdell was Kentucky's second-leading rusher through the 2025 season, trailing only lead back Seth McGowan. The former four-star recruit finished the year with 560 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 112 carries for the Wildcats.

Georgia will be Dowdell's fourth destination in his college football career so far. The Mississippi native began his collegiate career as a highly-touted recruit for the Oregon Ducks before transferring to Nebraska for his sophomore season.

Through 12 games with the Cornhuskers in 2024, Dowdell recorded 614 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns.

Dowdell has 1,264 total rushing yards and 16 total rushing touchdowns through his 30 games with Oregon, Nebraska and Kentucky.

Several Bulldogs have yet to confirm their status for the 2026 season, including lead running back Nate Frazier. As the transfer portal window wears on, there's been some swirling rumors regarding Frazier's potential departure from Athens.

Frazier and his representation are reportedly working out contract details with Georgia. But if the two sides are unable to come to an agreement, the star RB could enter the 2026 NCAA transfer portal.

Multiple reports indicate Frazier is likely to return to Georgia in 2026, but the Bulldogs have yet to confirm his new NIL deal.
