Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are among the teams seeing significant activity in the college transfer portal, with over 37 players having departed.
They include highly coveted offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, running back Simeon Price, and wide receiver Isaiah Hardge. Along with those departures, other players are leaving Sanders' program as seniors, including cornerback Ivan Yates.
The senior cornerback had two seasons of playing time at Colorado, achieving 16 total tackles and five passes defended this past season. Yates is now taking his talents to the NFL Draft, where several of his former teammates were among the high picks in last year's draft.

On Friday, Yates shared a message touting his talents, including allowing zero touchdowns and ranking as the ninth-highest graded cornerback in the Big 12 at PFSN.
"More work to be done, thank you Lord," Yates wrote in his message with praying hands emoji and "#NFLDRAFT2026."
On Saturday morning, his coach showed support for his future career path with the six-word message, "I BELIEVE IN YOU MY BROTHER!"
As of this writing, it's unclear which round Yates might go in for the NFL Draft. According to ESPN, there are multiple cornerbacks likely to be selected above him, with Tennessee’s Jermod McCoy, LSU’s Mansoor Delane, and Clemson’s Avieon Terrell considered among the best corners available.
However, Yates has plenty of individuals he can potentially seek out for advice and support as he moves forward with his football career. In addition to Sanders, former teammate Travis Hunter, a cornerback and wide receiver with the Jacksonville Jaguars, went second in the draft last year.
Along with Hunter, there is also Deion's son, Shedeur Sanders, who participated in the final games of the Cleveland Browns' season as the starting quarterback. Sanders dropped to the fifth round of last year's draft but still found himself in an ideal situation to gain experience and showcase his skills.
