Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes finally got the win they desperately needed on Saturday, and their fans made sure everyone knew it.
Colorado snapped a five-game losing streak with a 27-24 overtime win over Kansas State at Folsom Field on Halloween, giving Sanders his first Big 12 win of the season.
Seconds after quarterback Isaac Wilson hit tight end Charlie Williams for the game-winning 11-yard touchdown, the goalposts came down and fans — many still in their Halloween costumes — poured onto the field.

However, the celebration could come with a hefty price tag.
The Big 12’s standard fine for storming the field is $50,000. The conference reviews each incident to determine whether the visiting team and game officials had a safe path off the field before deciding whether to hand down a penalty.
Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark has made the conference’s priority clear, saying “The Big 12 prioritizes the safety of all players, coaches and officials.”
This isn’t the first time Colorado fans have tested the Big 12’s patience.
Buffaloes fans rushed the field after a 24-17 win over No. 22 Iowa State in October 2025, which was Colorado’s last conference win before Saturday. Sanders was stunned when he was told afterward that the school could be fined for it.

...
“How is it $50,000 for rushing the field?” Sanders said at the time. “Wow, fifty grand.”
As it turned out, Colorado avoided paying a dime. The Big 12 waived the fine after ruling that the school executed its field-storming management procedures.
Not every Big 12 school has been so lucky. Arizona State was fined $50,000 and publicly reprimanded after its fans stormed the field following a win over Texas Tech last October, with the conference ruling the Sun Devils failed to follow protocols.
If the Big 12 follows its recent pattern, Colorado could learn its fate as soon as Tuesday.
