Alabama basketball has secured another major recruiting victory, adding one of the nation's top prospects to its 2027 class.
Five-star forward Zion Green, the No. 16 overall player in ESPN's SC Next 100 rankings, announced Saturday that he has committed to the Crimson Tide.
Green confirmed his decision to ESPN's Paul Biancardi, giving head coach Nate Oats another highly regarded prospect as Alabama continues building its future roster.

The 6-foot-9 forward currently attends Compass Prep in Arizona and is originally from Philadelphia.
Green chose Alabama over several prominent programs, including Kansas, Oklahoma and Ole Miss, which had also been heavily involved in his recruitment. His commitment represents another significant recruiting accomplishment for Oats, whose program has consistently attracted high-level talent.
According to ESPN's Jeff Borzello, Green is Alabama's second top-25 commitment in the 2027 class and gives the Crimson Tide their third five-star recruit over the past four recruiting cycles.
Green joins highly regarded guard Chase Lumpkin, who committed to Alabama earlier this year.
The addition gives the Crimson Tide an impressive foundation for its 2027 recruiting class, with two nationally ranked prospects already committed.
Green brings an intriguing combination of size, length and offensive versatility.
At nearly 6-foot-10, the talented forward has demonstrated the ability to handle the basketball, create scoring opportunities and stretch defenses with his perimeter shooting.
His versatility could make him a valuable addition to Oats' fast-paced offensive system, which emphasizes spacing, transition opportunities and three-point shooting.
Green's decision also reflects the relationship Alabama's coaching staff established throughout the recruiting process.

Speaking with ESPN, Green credited the program for remaining committed to recruiting him as his national profile continued to rise.
For Alabama, the commitment is another indication that the Crimson Tide can compete with college basketball's traditional powers for elite prospects.
Oats has already established Alabama as a consistent contender in the SEC, and maintaining that success will require continued recruiting momentum.
With Green joining Lumpkin in the 2027 class, the Crimson Tide have taken another important step toward building a roster capable of competing for conference championships and making deep NCAA Tournament runs.
