The Golden State Warriors are closing out their week on a low note.

With a Sunday night loss against the New York Knicks, the Warriors have now dropped five games in a row. Despite being shorthanded and putting up a good fight against the New York Knicks, the 110-107 defeat won't come with any moral victories for the Warriors.

The only way the Warriors can feel positive is if they get some key names back in the mix. Heading into Sunday's action, the injury report was loaded. With a road matchup against the Washington Wizards in play on Monday, Steve Kerr and the Warriors are hopeful they can get some key helpers back in the rotation.

When Steve Kerr addressed reporters ahead of the Sunday night loss for the Warriors, he had a positive update on three rotational players, who recently missed time.

Draymond Green's availability in DC has Steve Kerr "hopeful." As for Kristaps Porzingis and De'Anthony Melton, Kerr noted that he expects them to play.

As for the veterans, Al Horford and Seth Curry, their setbacks from Friday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves are expected to cost them at least a week's worth of action.

The Warriors have high hopes that Curry will return before the regular season concludes. There hasn't been any indication that he won't make it back.

But time is running out rather quickly. During the Warriors' January 30 outing against the Detroit Pistons, Curry checked out after 25 minutes. He hasn't touched the court since. By missing Sunday's action in New York, Curry missed 17 in a row.

Earlier in the week, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that Curry would miss at least 10 more days based on his latest evaluation. The upcoming Wizards, Celtics, and Pistons games are out of the question for Curry.

"Steph is on this trip. Kerr says he continues to trend in the right direction — still just doing individual work though," The Athletic's Nick Friedell reported on Sunday.

While it's a positive sign that Curry remains with the team, the Warriors are certainly in a tough spot without him.

At 32-35, the Warriors are ninth in the Western Conference. They have a 0.5-game lead over the Portland Trail Blazers, and they are 2.0 games behind the Los Angeles Clippers.
