The Phoenix Suns have not had the season many thought they'd have.
It has been a disaster of a season, and it seemed to hit a tipping point on Tuesday night when they were in the process of being blown out by the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Suns were getting tossed around by the Clippers until the fourth quarter, when Phoenix made a massive comeback and won their 29th game of the season.

However, the game was almost a footnote compared to the viral altercation between Kevin Durant and Suns head coach Mike Budenholzer.
The TNT cameras caught this view of an altercation that seemed to be fiery between the two.
Here's a look at what went down:
On the outside looking in, it seems bad, but after the game, Durant addressed the situation and shed light on the true backstory.

...
"We competitive as two individuals who want to see things done the right way, and sometimes my way ain't the way that Bud want to do it,"Durant said. "He allows me, as a player on the team, a veteran on the team, to voice my opinion. If I if we both didn't care, we would never have stuff like that.... This ain't the first time we done got into it... We had a quick disagreement, and move right on right after the next play. So it's not going to be the last either."
The Suns have been making headlines over the past few weeks, and not for good reasons. Budenholzer has been involved in it as well. Just last week, NBA insider Chris Haynes reported that Budenholzer had to tell his star guard Devin Booker to be less vocal.

The news broke after Booker made some questionable comments about the importance of communication on the court. At the time, people weren't sure what he was referring to, but once this story broke, it was apparent that he was taking a dig at his head coach.
While Booker took that side of the story, Durant seemed to have downplayed the situation and noted the dynamic between himself and his head coach. The win may have been nice for the Suns, but that doesn't erase the disaster of a season they've endured thus far.
Nonetheless, they are still within striking distance of a spot at the play-in. With the Dallas Mavericks appearing to punt the season, Phoenix, only three games back from the 10th seed, could make a push for that or beyond.
