Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic made headlines on Saturday night when he called out fans of the team who were booing the group during their home opener, which was a come-from-behind overtime win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Jokic had a chance to explain or even take back his comments on Monday night following the Nuggets' 134-114 loss versus the Golden State Warriors.
Instead, the three-time NBA MVP doubled down.

Jokic is in his 12th season since being selected by Denver in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft.
The 31-year-old said at Nuggets media day in September that he intended to sign a contract extension with the only franchise he's ever known next offseason.

Jokic has already cemented his status as an NBA legend in Denver, not only winning a trio of regular season MVP awards, but earning eight straight All-Star honors and leading the Nuggets to their first championship in 2023.
"Joker" was named both the Western Conference Finals and NBA Finals MVP that year, continues to be a walking triple-double and one of the best players in the game.
Denver has failed to make it past the conference semifinals in each of the last three seasons, however, and is off to a 1-2 start this fall.
Jokic leads the Nuggets in rebounds (9.7), assists (8.7) and blocks (2.3) per game through the early part of the 2026-27 campaign, while tying point guard Jamal Murray for the team lead in points per contest as well (22.3).
