Home-court advantage proved insignificant through the first three games of the 2026 NBA Finals.

The New York Knicks stole both Game 1 and Game 2 on the road against the San Antonio Spurs, jumping out to an early 2-0 lead. Then, the Spurs bounced back with a Game 3 victory at Madison Square Garden — spoiling the Knicks' first NBA Finals home game since 1999.

These results represent just the second time in NBA Finals history that the road team has won each of the first three games. The first and only other time this happened was the 1993 NBA Finals between the Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns.
