From his rise to superstardom with the Oklahoma City Thunder to championship glory with the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Durant has had a storied career.

In a recent episode of the No Fouls Given podcast, Basketball Hall of Famer Paul Pierce suggested that Durant deserves to be honored by both the Thunder and Warriors.

"KD gets two statues. OKC and Golden State statues. You put all four of them down because think about it, we're gonna feature these four. This is arguably the greatest team in NBA history. Why wouldn't I feature that in front of our building?”

Durant signed with the Warriors back in 2016. The one-time MVP joined Golden State’s core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, who were coming off a record-breaking 73-win season.

Durant’s three-year stint with the Warriors resulted in two NBA championships and two NBA Finals MVP awards. Both league titles were won against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In his last year with Golden State, Durant suffered a season-ending Achilles injury during Golden State’s NBA Finals series against the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors would go on to win the series.

Where Is Kevin Durant Now?

The 37-year-old Durant is a franchise star for the Houston Rockets. This season, he is averaging 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.5 assists over 46 games.

In February, Durant was named an Western Conference All-Star reserve. He will be playing for the USA Stripes team, alongside the likes of Curry, Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson, and LeBron James.

With a 31-18 record, the Rockets hold the fourth spot in the Western Conference standings. The franchise is on a 7-3 stretch in its past 10 games.

The Rockets opted not to make roster moves in the days prior to February’s trade deadline. The franchise’s core continues to focus around Durant, Amen Thompson, and Alperen Sengun.

While Durant is at the later stages of his playing career, the 16-time All-Star has a serious opportunity to win a third NBA championship as a member of the Rockets.
