New York finished third in the Eastern Conference last season at 51-31 before advancing to their first conference finals appearance since 2000. That wasn’t enough to save Tom Thibodeau’s job; he was replaced by veteran NBA coach Mike Brown. The Knicks signed defensive ace Mikal Bridges to an extension while bringing in former Sixth Man of the Year Jordan Clarkson and veteran Guerschon Yabusele in an attempt to upgrade the bench.
The Timberwolves come off a second straight loss in the Western Conference Finals, coming off a sixth-place finish and 49 wins in the West before upending the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors in the playoffs. Minnesota re-signed Julius Randle in free agency while also retaining Naz Reid, Bones Hyland, and Joe Ingles and selecting French center Joan Beringer 17th overall in the draft.
The Knicks closed out two wins over the Philadelphia 76ers with a 113-104 victory on Saturda,y while Minnesota comes off a 135-134 overtime loss at home to the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night.
This is a great NBA matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
