Sometimes the hardest move for a franchise is admitting that something isn't working anymore. Even when it seems like it should. Memphis made that decision and now gets the chance to build around a younger group that could define the next era of Grizzlies basketball.

The Grizzlies also reshaped their frontcourt, adding Isaiah Stewart and Quinten Post while moving on from Santi Aldama. Stewart brings the toughness and physicality Memphis has always valued, while Post gives the team another big man. Nothing wrong with that, right?

There are still plenty of unknowns. Anytime a team moves away from a player as talented as Morant, there will be an adjustment period. The Grizzlies won't simply replace his ability to create offense overnight.

But this isn't about replacing the past. It's about building something new.
