Former NFL player and New York Giants cornerback Sam Beal has been missing for the last seven months, his sister shared via social media.

Beal's sister, Essence Zhane, shared this statement on Facebook.

"We've done everything we could on our end to piece things together and at this point we're in desperate need of support on all ends," Zhane said. "I'm not here to answer a bunch of why's and how's I just need this to land in the right direction to gain some form of answers or closure."

According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, the 29-year-old was last seen in July 2025 after dropping off his girlfriend at her house. Beal was supposed to use her car to drive to work; however, he allegedly made his way to Virginia Beach instead.

Beal was last seen in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

In the missing person's file, it states that Beal "did not bring anything with him aside from the clothes he was wearing, a pair of slides, and his wallet that contained his banking card and driver's license," and that the "vehicle was found with Samuel's shoes and socks on the floor of the front passenger seat along with some sand on the floor."

The Michigan native spent his three seasons of his NFL career with the New York Giants. Before that, he played at Western Michigan, where he was a standout. In three college seasons, he recorded 96 combo tackles, 68 solo tackles, two interceptions, 19 passes defended, and one forced fumble.

Beal considered entering the 2018 NFL Draft, but he decided to stay, citing multiple reasons. He was projected to be a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, just before his senior season. Beal changed his mind and applied to enter the 2018 NFL Supplemental Draft.

The Giants selected the former Second-team All-MAC cornerback in the third round of the Supplemental draft. However, he missed the 2018 season with a shoulder injury.

During his two playing seasons with the Giants, Beal saw action in nine games, including three starts. Over that span, he logged 27 combined tackles, 21 solo tackles and one tackle for loss.

Midway through the 2021 season, the Giants waived Beal from the active roster, and he was released after a brief stint with the team's practice squad in December 2021.
